Leather trousers, a versatile piece in your wardrobe that will stand the test of time. They happen to be bang on trend too.. if you follow the trends.

If there is a sentence I hear regularly it’s the words ‘I definitely can’t wear leather trousers’ and my reaction is, you absolutely can. With so many styles available there will be a pair to suit your body shape. With sharp tailoring to jogging bottoms in straight leg, tapered cropped and skinny in petite, tall or plus size the highstreet has got it covered. If you’re more comfortable in jeans, there are a huge selection of wet-look options available that serve the same purpose and look equally as cool.

When it comes to styling a leather (or pleather in this case) trouser, the options are endless. You can create a chic daytime look or take it up a level for an evening out. Here are a few ideas if you’re stuck for inspiration…

  • Blazer, tee and trainers

  • Denim jacket or shirt, tee and trainers

  • Utility jacket and chunky boots

  • Oversized knit and boots (a sock boot always looks great under wider leg trousers)

  • Cardigan, lace cami & a mule

  • Blouse and boot or heel

  • Blazer, cami and heels (tailoring looks particularly great with a leather pant!)

With all of the above you can mix and match to suit your lifestyle. If you’re going for an all black outfit - mix textures and fabrics to create a luxe look. Layer up for winter, don’t forget a statement coat or scarf.

Ps. if you’re wearing leggings, a full crotch on show is not the best look (as personal preference anyway), I avoid it at all costs.
